A Dirty Little Cocktail

I would be remiss if I did not write about one of my favorite (and potent) drinks from the local pub, The Irish Lion. The drink is called The Dirty Nellie, named after a really old bar in Ireland (or so Jeff the bartender told me).

What is a Dirty Nellie? According to Jeff and Logan - my favorite bartenders at the Irish Lion - it is like a Long Island Iced Tea, only without the tequila. (B/c who drinks tequila in Ireland, right?) What replaces the tequila? Everything else, of course; rum, gin, triple sec... and only Jeff and Logan know what else.

Drop in to the Irish Lion and try one. You won't be sorry! (Unless you managed to drink more than 3. Then I am pretty sure you won't feel so hot the next day.)

Nostrovia!

Nuestro Mexico

I have been eating at Nuestro Mexico (Nuestro as I call it) an average of 2 times a month for the last 8 years. To say that it is one of my favorite restaurants is an understatement. Their food is not only good, but the service is impeccable and the prices are reasonable. I think what I like so much about Nuestro is the fact that everyone knows me; kind of like the "Cheers" of Mexican restaurants... and they have the best tacos and chicken chimichangas in town.

On a factorial note: Nuestro made the headlines in 1999 when Bobby Knight (famous Indiana University Basketball Coach with anger management issues) choked Christoper Foster in the parking lot. Foster was eating at the restaurant when he allegedly overheard Knight making racist remarks. The cops were called - the charges later were dropped - and history was made in their quaint parking lot.

All history aside, Nuestro is a place not to miss. Also, where else can you get in and out in less than an hour at lunch time with a group of 17 people.... trust me. I have done it!
